Can Milestones Be Late Because of Weight?

“Will my baby fall behind because they’re on the bigger side? ”

ANSWER - Love this question! It comes up so often in regards to weight, head size, birth order, sex, etc- but there actually isn't any supporting research I've ever been able to find that validates any of those reasons being the PRIMARY cause of milestone acquisition delays.

It could absolutely be a contributing or compounding factor for some, but if they are truly falling outside the average ranges, there is usually another reason and is always worth mentioning to your pediatrician!

Hope this helps!
